First Look - 2010 Alternate Throwback Jersey

Courtesy of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, here's the new throwback uniform the Packers will be wearing at select games from 2010-2014.

Packers linebacker Brad Jones, left, and wide receiver Jordy Nelson model the team's new throwback uniforms inside the locker room during Fan Fest in the Lambeau Field Atrium on Friday, March 12, 2010. Corey Wilson/Press-Gazette

WFRV in Green Bay gave us our first peek at the new throwback jerseys, unveiled today at the Packers FanFest:

And a video report as well:

I like it, although the circle is a little larger than I hoped.

Love the blog, The new uni's are interesting... and because they already had to make tweeks to the jersey, how about making the pants the same muted shade of brown as the helmet? I always assumed they were brown from looking at the old pictures... and i agree with the uni-watch guys that the shine or fleck should be removed from the helmet...

I will have to see them under the lights before I buy into them...

That's not a bad idea, tone down the brown helmet to a more tannish color.

I haven't seen a clear enough look at the helmet - does it really have the metallic flecks?

If not, and we're just talking about the standard glossy shell, I'm not yet sold on the need for a matte helmet. Leather helmets could be awfully shiny.

I am dubbing this jersey "the cheese wheel". Since the circle had to be enlarged to meet current NFL numeral standards, that is what it looks like to me. I love the jersey and think that it is fantastic that the Packers organization would dig so deep into their long and storied history and resurrect this treasure.

these retro unis are nice...but someday i really hope to see the Pack go all the way back...to the jerseys with "ACME PACKERS" on the front!!!!! They would probably have to shoehorn some small numbers onto the front like the Bears and Steelers did on their 1994 retros, but that would be SO cool to see the modern day Packers wearing the Acme jerseys.
