The area on his shoulders where the stripes should go is darker than the rest of the jersey, but that looks like it's just sweat.

Wardrobe malfunction? Deliberate attempt to introduce an assymetrical look to the NFL? Whatever the origins, it's not a bad response to the problem of disappearing sleeves. Instead of chipping away at
Vince Lombardi's stripes, just eliminate them altogether.
